The Committee is comprised of three (3) members who are elected at an Annual General Meeting (AGM). Each member serves in the committee for a period of three years, after which he retires. A member of this committee is free to seek re-election upon the expiry of his term. To qualify for membership, a candidate must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a member of KHCS in good standing
- Must posess basic accounting, investigative audit and information gathering knowledge
- Must posess banking or finance knowledge.
The Supervisory Committee is created by the KHCS By-Laws as an independent oversight body to countercheck the effectiveness of the Society's internal control systems through:
- Carrying out financial investigations and audits to verify the accuracy of transactions of the Society
- Investigation of internal controls of the Society in compliance with the Co-operative Act and the Society's By-InLaws
- Reviews of member complaints and responses by the CMC
- Establishment of the use of manegerial tools by management; such as budgets, trial balances, economic reports, etc
- Investigations on the CMC's adherence to the Society's policies and procedures.
- Making periodic reports and presentation to the CMC at joint meetings
- Presentation of an Annual Report at the Society's Annual General meeting

Moses Muthoka - Chairperson
Moses Muthoka is the current chair of the Kansa Housing Co-operative Society's Supervisory Committee. He is an experienced accountant who possesses experience in Audit and Vouching within a company and society environments. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds an MBA in Finance. His key strengths lie in ensuring adherence to the Society's policies and procedures. During his term as chair, the overall compliance levels have improved, resulting to increased efficiency in the operations of the Society. |
